Travelling by Train
In these environmentally friendly days we are encouraged to use trains more and more - but is it worth it?
Of course a good train service will get you from 'A' to 'B' in relative comfort - but then you have to get to and from a station at either end. Depending on how you make that journey to and from the stations could radically effect whether you are really helping the environment - ever seen the 4x4's parked in the station car park? Exactly!
Then we have the service. Some of the UK services in particular leave a lot to be desired. Transfer's to busses, cancellations and of course, the infamous leaves on the line can make the easiest of journeys (on paper) into an epic expedition.
Do you have any success - or horror - stories of your train journeys?
Have the costs made rail travel just too expensive to make it worthwhile, or is the hassle just too much?
